- Planning to fly while wearing your CGM? Whether you're traveling within the U.S. or abroad, keep in mind that your CGM might not work correctly if you pass through a full-body scanner or X-Ray machine.
But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here’s what you need to know:
- Let the TSA or the international security agent know that you're wearing a CGM and ask for a manual check. CGMs can safely go through metal detectors.
- By law, they have to honor your request for a manual check, as a CGM is a medical device.
- If you’re packing your CGM in your carry-on luggage, take the device out before it goes through the X-Ray machine and ask the TSA or the international security agent to manually check it.
Safe travels and steady glucose levels!
